Sometimes high expectancy can be bit of a let down. I know I shouldn't expect so much with a product that's in a low price bracket, but I have to be honest, I did expect a more powerful fan than this when on full speed. The Honeywell HT900e "Turbo Force Power" Fan has 3-speeds.
The first two are okay depending on how close you are to the fan, but the 3rd setting is definitely more powerful and can be felt from further away. But my first impressions are its still not great. As I said, I was expecting a more powerful fan when running at its maximum speed. But for the price I suppose its not too bad. However, it's really a desk fan not a room fan.
Not sure about Honeywell's claim of feeling the power from upto 7 meters away. 2 - 3 meters maybe, but not 7. Nowhere near. And certainly nothing more than a tiny tiny breeze that's just about noticed. Fan is quiet on the lower setting but not silent by any means on the top two. On setting three its actually quite loud. Check the review / test video below. No, that's not me.
The 90 degree movement of the head is quite a good feature but if messed around with quite frequently, I couldn't see the mechanism lasting too long before it broke. Feels a bit cheap, with its cheap plastics and shoddy build quality. But that's what you get when you buy a cheap product. At least that's what we have come to accept as what we get.
I'm a real party pooper aren't I. Sorry, but you know when you buy something and open it and were expecting a little bit more from the product and it never delivered. That's what happened to me with this fan. It's just alright.
But don't take my word for it, what do I know. Despite the healthy amount of 1-star reviews backing up my opinions, my own rating would be a 2 - 3 star score. Many people seem to be over the moon, or should I say blown away with its performance and value for money. 5 stars dominate the overall review score.
It's the number 1 best seller on Amazon UK, and I think it was in the USA too but was sold out when I looked. The wattage this fan runs at is quite controversial, as someone bought two of the same models and the wattage measurements were very different. In general, it is between 21 watts [lowest setting] and 60 watts [highest setting].
